Description of the accommodation

At 800 metres above Lake Maggiore in the middle of the green slopes of Monte Carza (Conca Verde dellago Maggiore), lies the holiday home Casa RosaMaria in Trarego Viggiona. The holiday home with character and charm offers:

- Italian cosiness combined with modern influences
- Space for up to 4/6 people in three bedrooms
- Peace and relaxing views of the lake from all living areas, from the large balcony and from the garden

The holiday home is barrier-free (it only has a small step at the front door) with a living area of approx. 120 m² on one level. It consists of an open-plan living area with living/dining room and kitchen, three bedrooms, a bathroom, separate WC, large balcony and garden.

The kitchen was newly installed in spring 2024. The bathroom and WC were also completely renovated. In the basement you will soon find a laundry room/storage room with washing machine, tumble dryer and clothes horse for use.

The best thing about the location, apart from the panoramic view of the lake, is the absolute peace and quiet that prevails up here. The sun is with you all day - enjoy your first coffee on the balcony at sunrise and a sundowner at sunset. Simply hear nothing - except perhaps the twittering of birds - this is pure relaxation!

You will find Casa RosaMaria in the residential area of Contrada "Piaggio" in a very quiet location (the road is a dead end) at an altitude of 800 metres above Lake Maggiore. Trarego, Cheglio and Viggiona are three romantic mountain villages of rural origin that were merged into one municipality in the 1920s. They are surrounded by greenery on the slopes of Monte Carza, from where you can enjoy an enviable panorama of Lake Maggiore. The basin in which the three villages are located is also known as Conca Verde. The municipality belongs to the province of Verbano Cussio Ossola and is located 19 kilometres from the town of Verbania.

From the house you can set off directly on wonderful, family-friendly hiking tours and walks in the countryside. Whether down to Cannero or Cannobio, to the Trarego waterfall or up to the summit of Monte Carza. Mountain bikers will also find exciting historical churches, old wash houses and fountains or discover the military ruins of the "Cadorna Line", which were built during the First World War - the leisure options are truly endless. The art trail is also well known. Every year at Easter, several houses and studios open their doors and present the works of various artists.

Not far away and within walking distance you will find:

- In Trarego: tourist office (open from July to September)

- In Trarego: mini supermarket (corner shop) run by Roberto Borsetta (fresh cheese, bread rolls, thinly sliced Prosciutto di Parma etc.).)

- In Trarego: ELIOS bar (cosy indoor area and terrace, serves breakfast, hot dishes, cocktails or an espresso for in between)

- In Viggiona: Ristorante Usignolo (great restaurant with excellent Italian cuisine, booking is advisable)

- In Viggiona: Ristorante/Pizzeria Luna (good, Italian cuisine, delicious pizza)

- In Viggiona: "Grappa Viggiona" distillery (fine liqueurs, grappa, limoncino, gin - you are also welcome to sample at Gian Carlo's)

It's about 8 minutes by car to Cannero Riviera down to the lake and the promenade. 8 minutes and about 6 km. Here you will find an attractive beach with beach bar and pedalo hire, a pretty promenade for strolling with many restaurants, ice cream parlours, bars, bakery, supermarket, tourist office etc.

If you fancy a more extensive stroll with a wider selection of shops, Cannobio (approx. 11 km from the house) is just the place for you. Romantic little streets and an attractive promenade with many restaurants and bars invite you to linger. On Sundays, the famous market with fashion, handicrafts and Italian specialities takes place here.

After a drive of approx. 30 minutes, you will reach the town of Verbania with its districts of Antoliva, Intra and Pallanza. "Verbania, a garden on the lake" is how the town presents itself to visitors. Gardens and parks are the main attractions in this area. Every Saturday, the weekly market offers a colourful and informative insight into the life of the town
